Giving Up on COD5:WaW

Looks like one of my worst nightmare arrived: A point when im totally unable to play a game on my PC. WaW freezes every time during game load. Im getting like 10FPS at all low setting, 640 x 480. I was so fed up that i switch to play WaW on my NDS. Better frame rate, maybe -20% in texture, geom and details. But at least no freezes and problems.

Anyway, i just did the last most scary thing: Draw blood for FFI. I remb the last time i drew blood was when i was Sec 1. I was so scared that i punched the doctor and four to five ppl got to come and pin me down to get a successful blood draw. Violence at young age. No good.

This particular guy in my workplace is getting on my nerve. That fucking HCI boy is pissing me up. Sibei arrogant, snobbish and sissy. How worst can it get? Maybe this is what i call a himbo, the male version of my always-wanna-kill bimbo. Does he realized what the way he speaks is suanning ppl? Though i admit i like to suan ppl a lot but i at least attempt to keep it to be like a joke, by making things obvious. Unlike him, shooting dark arrows all over. He can tell he look down on alot of ppl. Maybe no one bothers about him, but i cannot tahan, i must take him on.

Im lacking sleep. Lots of sleep. Suddenly i realised im going to ORD very very soon. Very strange leh, why i feel nervous. Nervous about ORD. Maybe its like a prisoner squatting behind the bars for too long, when he is released, he cannot adapt to the outside world. I had already lost all socializing (if i have any) skills and every word that comes out of my mouth is vulgar. Haiz. How?

Working on my amp

Keeping this a short update. Basically the components of the Mini3 ZOMBiE CYGiG Edition (ZCE) are more or less finalised.

One of the reservoir will be changed to a Elna Cerafine, the opamp decoupling caps into Wima. The resistors will be Vishay Dale except for C5s, which are in the signal path, will be the Caddock MKS132. The input output jacks will be from Switchcraft. The signal opamp will be LM4562, the ground undecided. Supposed to be BUF634U but its out of stock worldwide. Diodes will be changed to schottchy SMDs. Charging capacitor into Elna cerafines too. The Face plate will be designed by me just for Mini3 ZCE.

So far, i lack the 1.5K and 75 Dales CMF50 series. Haven buy the cerafines yet. Ground opamp undecided.

What About Me?
Hi my name is ZOMBiE, i think you knew that long ago. It seems that the name ZOMBiE CYGiG is already stuck in me. Outside my name is wat my parents gave me, ppl call me by that. But online or in my own world, Im known as ZOMBiE CYGiG. Some ppl who, i would actually say, grew up with me online, ported the name 'zombie' to the real world. Sometimes i appreciate that.

Im a geek. I dunno how they define 'geek' in USA or other country or other communities. From what i know, a geek is basically someone obsessed with technology, more often than not, someone odd.

From wiki:
The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc."

So what am i obsessed with? Im obsessed with technology, specifically audio, hardware, programming and communications (WWW, IM, Forums etc etc). Other than that im obsessed with technological arts, like digital imaging and digital designs. Small gadgets often amuse me too.

Im also obsessed with how things work and how i can change things. How the education system works, and where are the lopp holes for me to dig etc etc.

I am a geek.

My Own World
I live in my own world. Prolly each geek does that too. I can sit there and imagine and thing and go thru things that i want to do, go thru circuits in my brain, trying to figure out problems to my programming, trying to squeeze some ideas out for my design.

No much ppl around me totally understand how i view things, cos i often view an incident in an awkward way. When ppl talk about music, they talk about how cute tt Jay Chou is, and how chio that Jolin used to be. Whats the lyrics about and how they like the melody. But for me, i will be wondering why he chose that instrument in his song, what exactly is he trying to tell us in that song. I will visualize the artiste inside the recording room, singing and recording. What mixer are they using? What mic are they using? How exactly they mix the tracks? How long the process takes? How isit like to print it into CDs? How much profit are they making? Are there any loopholes in the system or smthing wrong with the song? Are they any dark secrets that happend during the production process that i dunno?

When i get a product, i have the urge to review it. Be it got anyone read or not, I just wanna review it and give it my 2cents. Its like filing a data sheet in my head so that its useful for comparison later on.

When i buy a gadget, i will give it 100% full tots on which to buy, what exactly i need and how am i going to find the cheapest price around. It often ended up in obscure products and brands that no one knows about, and ppl who dunno will wonder if my gadgets are cheapos from China.

Some ppl ask me "why u need such a good player and earphone? Got sound can le ma!" I also dunno. Prolly that is what make a me a geek. I tend to be as clear and precise as i can be, though most of the time im not professional at that at all. When i see a product i click on Tech Specs and see if the specs are what i wanted. No need for the long winded advertisements and Photoshopped Gallery. And most of the time i try not to judge things by the look.

The Geeky Phenomenon
I find this geeky phenomenon crawling into my normal life, the so call 'Real World', the the world that is not ZOMBiE's World.

I got into a dilemma whether to eat Laksa or Chicken rice. For the moment i tot im picking two gadgets. Something liddat came to my head:

Laksa:
- High Satisfying factor
- 3.5 weeks since last ate
- Low amount
- Not value for money
- Customer Service Poor

Chicken Rice:
- Mid Satisfying factor
- 5.5 days since last ate
- Mid amound
- Rather value for money
- Customer Service Good

Sounds like a Tech Spec of two machine? Hahaha. I find that customer service is not important since im dealing with them for a short while only. The Satisfaction level and Since-Last-Ate Level are tilted towards laksa. I Just had pay day so money is not a problem. But how do i solve the problem of low amount? Im not gg to get full eating one bowl of laksa? Upsize? Base on my mom's and her gossipy friend's review they say the +$1 upsize is not worth the money.

So in the end, i ordered a regular bowl of laksa and top it up with a +$1 Chicken Wing from the Western Food Store. That should do it. If im hungry later on i can always cook Instant Mee.

I find myself doing these kinds comparison whole day in my normal life. I can spend my whole shitting session thinking about the best transport route to take to goto some event next week. I can fret over how i should spend my weekends. I can worry over what stationeries to buy...

And after i eat that laksa, i will do a mini review in my head. How is the standard? Has is dropped or become better? How is the cook? isit the same person or not? If possible i will snap a photo or two, and if i have time i post on my blog.

And Hey! This speaker at the side of the coffee shop seems interesting....hmm...

How Has NS Changed Me?
Good question. I dunno myself. Prolly better management skills? Maybe better communication skills and exposure to diff kind of ppl? I will not stay on this topic longer..

A Covered Face
So when you see me at my workplace or somewhere else. I am not me. Im just putting up a covered face to look normal. Sometimes i will try to be normal, so normal tt ppl can understand me. So normal that sometimes i dunno who i am. Am i normal?

A Quick Look

SoundMagic PL30

The legendary PL30 had arrived few days ago. Still burning in. Its said to be as power as the Shure E4C, and yet its cheaper than the Mylars. How true is that? Has the Mylar series finally met with its opponent at its price range? Review and more photos comes later.

New Tripod

To enhance my photog experience, my dad decide to invest in a new tripod. Its the China WeiFeng FT6606T body and Giotto MH-1002 Ball Head.

The whole set up weighs less than 2KG, made of alu, which is light compared to my precious SLIK tripod. The max height is 1.7m, taller than me. The three legs are individually controlled, able to pull out for low angle shooting. The Ball Head is capable of panning, for paranomic shots. Controlling the camera via ball head is much easier than the old skool tilt and handle platform.

The Max supported weight is 4KG. But im able to use my body mass to press down the tripod and its stable like a mountain. Its good for smthing MIC, my dad paid $195 for everything, though it may be cheaper to purchase online. FIY the ball head cost more than the tripod body.

Moving on to the RCA

Im moving on to assembling RCA interconnects for home system. After learning how to solder on 3.5mm plugs, RCA is chicken feet, one less pole and lots of space to solder on. Canare F10 give me a wide enuff outlet for most of the cables i wanna use, no need for re-jacking to fit into the puny 3.5mm's. Im porting my current mini-mini IC to RCA-RCA IC. My first customer is wenze and he is getting the HybridMAX Pro in RCA from me. Lets see how my cables sound in a home system.

More profit, cos more users, bigger market and this market has yet to be saturated. Its hard to saturate an art-based market da, cos each and every product is gg to give a different effect on different individuals. But can u imagine the cpost price to build two 1m long SilverMAX Ultra? hahaha.

Wait for my review on the new items like AceKard 2 and EZ-Flash 3in1 Expansion Pak.

To summarize, im now able to store much more games and the speed is much much improved, thanks to the Class 4 SDHC and thanks to Acekard 2 for supporting it.

AceKard 2 has much more features over the old R4DS, like support for the 3in1 expansion pak, more complex skinning, integration of media players into the OS, mutliple save file for games, selectable patches (wifi/download play/rom trim) for individual/all games, file operation, shortcut...

Happy Birthday

I went for someone's BD party about 2 to 3 weeks ago. To be honest, i dun really feel like going at all. But why did i went in the end? Cos tt person happen to be one of my good friend.

I was actually quite disappointed at the BD party, not only its not well organised, its over crowded, the food isnt nice, i saw ppl who i dun wanna see, the place was stuffy and warm, lack of entertainment... For all she persuded me to go, it end up quite not up to standard.

But one thing for sure - my friend really did enjoy herself. Can see her satisfaction in her party, prolly thats the most impt thing despite all the flaws i mentioned? Is 21st BD really tt important? For someone who never celebrated his bd, me think if my parents can gimme $1000 to buy my own stuff, i would be more than happy liao.

Snobsy

A certain person from HCI in my workplace is pissing me off with his attitude. Snobby and arrogant, typical HCI/Chinese High atttiude IMHO. Im not gg to go into details, but if anyone who knows him happen to read this, pls help me wake up his idea. thanks.
